Sunset Forest Walk

2 hours · Easy · Summer–Fall

An evening ramble through pitch pine and oak woodlands. Listen for owls and learn how this fire-shaped forest sustains itself.

As the light softens, we'll walk quiet paths through the Cape's coastal forest, a landscape shaped over generations by fire, wind, and sandy soil. Your guide will point out the trees, lichens, and animals of the understory, and explain the surprising role that fire plays in keeping this ecosystem healthy.

A gentle, contemplative outing to close the day. Bring a light layer; it can cool quickly once the sun is down.
